transpersonal
spiritual psychotherapy

It’s not what happens to you, it’s what you do with what happens that matters.

You’ve taken a brave step forward to find neutral and caring support.

Work with me one-on-one to help you get to where you would like to be in your life.

Complimentary and confidential virtual consultations available to see if we are a good fit.

My Approach

Psychotherapy has it’s origin in the Greek words psyche, meaning soul, and therapeia, meaning healing. The soul refers to the non-physical part of our being which knows more about us than our everyday consciousness.

I take an eclectic psychodynamic approach to my work with you which includes looking at childhood experiences that may at first seem irrelevant.

You might come in with a sense of not feeling whole; like there is missing something. I endeavour to work with you from a broader perspective with the understanding that you are already whole.

Modalities

Here are some of the modalities and influences that you will encounter in my work:

  • The Enneagram personality identification system
  • Buddhist psychology
  • Metaphysics and the association between body and mind
  • Spiritual direction
  • Gestalt therapy techniques
  • Guided visualization
  • Inner child
  • Forgiveness practice

  • Yoga
  • ELDOA

The core of who you are has the ability
to transcend the difficulties you identify with.

I feel that effective therapy helps you get to the root of the problem. That is what metaphysics is concerned with.

Aristotle called it “first philosophy” or “wisdom” and deals with the “first/root cause of things”.

You are a powerful creator and within you lives the infinite wisdom of the ages. You have the sacred creative force of all that is. Part of our work together is to help you recognize that in your own life.

Transpersonal is a term that describes that which lies beyond the personal. This is tied in with a metaphysical approach. We look at things from a broader perspective when appropriate to find meaning and the mysterious opportunities that surface difficulties can offer you.

Real changes require connecting with your true self – who are you underneath all the difficulties you face? What are you learning? What qualities are you developing or need to develop? The core of who you are has the ability to transcend the difficulties you identify with.

I take my lead from you and you don’t have to identify as “spiritual” to benefit from a psycho-spiritual approach to therapy. You can experience great healing and relief from being able to share your story in a confidential and non-judgmental space. That may be all you want.

Your goals may be to reduce the symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, relationship or family issues. Maybe you want to make lasting changes because you notice recurring patterns in your life. Psychotherapy can help you become a more balanced and integrated person. Managing reactivity enhances your fulfilment in life.
